Grievance & Refund Policy
Children’s Trauma Healing Center (CTHC) is fully committed to conducting all continuing education activities in strict conformance with the ethical standards of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics and the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Code of Ethics.
CTHC will comply with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content, and the treatment of participants. Monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards will be the responsibility of the Continuing Education (CE) Director, in collaboration with the Social Work Consultant when deemed appropriate.
While CTHC goes to great lengths to ensure fair treatment for all participants and anticipates potential concerns, it recognizes that grievances may arise. CTHC will address all complaints promptly, respectfully, and fairly.
When a complaint, either verbal or written, is filed with the Continuing Education Director, the following procedures are followed to achieve resolution:
Presenter Concerns
If the grievance relates to a speaker, presenter, instructional material, or educational methodology, the participant is encouraged to first address concerns directly with the presenter. If the presenter is unavailable, or if the concern remains unresolved, the participant should submit the grievance in writing to the CE Director. The Director will review the complaint and communicate feedback to the presenter while maintaining the confidentiality of the complainant whenever possible.Program Content, Facility, or Activity Concerns
If the grievance concerns a continuing education program’s content, delivery level, accessibility, or the facilities where the event is held, the CE Director will review and address the concern. Possible resolutions may include, but are not limited to, a partial refund, full refund, substitution with another course, or credit toward a future program.Formal Grievances and Social Work Consultant Involvement
If a participant is not satisfied with the initial resolution, they may submit a formal written grievance to the CE Director. A written response will be provided within 30 days of receipt of the formal grievance. The Social Work Consultant will be involved in the resolution of all grievances filed by social workers. For grievances filed by participants from other professional backgrounds, the Social Work Consultant will be consulted when deemed appropriate based on the nature and complexity of the grievance.
All grievance resolutions will be documented in accordance with ACE standards.
